The Opel Manta 400 appeared in 1981 as the successor to the Opel Ascona 400 introduced in the WRC.
Developed based on Manta B. Equipped with a 2410cc in-line 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve naturally aspirated engine tuned by Cosworth of England, famous in the racing world. It adopted the FR system that drives the rear wheels. The body uses a lot of aluminum and carbon, and has achieved a weight reduction of less than 1000kg. In addition, the German tuner Irmscher is in charge of tuning the suspension. From 1983 to 1986, when Group B homologation was acquired, he was active in the World Rally Championship, European Championship, and national championships in each country.
This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Opel Manta 400Gr. Manufactured by Belkit, a Belgian company that actively develops old and new rally cars.
