1st Place – Ben Mcbride
Steel Blue Toyota Hiace
Ben talks about his build:
“I am a fan of modified Japanese cars, and having seen the modified Bosozuku Hiace vans, I really wanted to try and show this in a model. There was a lot of cutting to modify the body as well as using Milliput and abs plastic sheeting to add to the build, which was nerve-wracking at times.
2nd Place – James Monaghan
Horror Icons Bus
James talks about his build:
“Well on this build I wanted to try something I’d never done before (as I do every build off), I designed and printed my own waterslide decals, laid them on, then blended the edges in with the airbrush and for the first time tried airbrushing lightening too. Creativity and being different is what is important to me!”
3rd Place – Mark Griffiths
Orange & Green Golf
Mark talks about his build:
“With building a Halloween themed kit the obvious choice would be a bright orange colour and the kit I was using was quite basic, so I didn’t need to worry about too much detail on the exterior.
It was difficult to get the interior looking right as I wanted it to stand out and possibly put items inside the boot. It was also hard choosing different wheels that didn’t look too big for the car and I wasn’t going to add the wheel arches. But decided to fit them in the end. It didn’t take me too long to build the kit, but I still like taking my time and not rush my build-off entries”.
