The Honda CRX is a Japanese compact car that was first presented to the public in 1983. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 1991 – during this process the model was produced only in the city of Suzuka in Japan. The CRX model was developed and put into production by the Honda Motor Company concern in order to attract young customers who wanted a relatively cheap car, but with a sporty flair. In order to reduce the costs of creating a new model, many components and elements from the Civic model were used. Two generations of the Honda CRX were produced in the course of production. The first one was produced in the years 1983-1987, and the second – in the period 1987-1992. They differed from each other in the design of the body, the range of engines offered, the suspension system as well as the basic and additional equipment. In the Honda company’s offer, the CRX model has been replaced by the following models: CRX Del Sol, Insight and CR-Z.
