Toyota Alphard (other name: Toyota Velfire) is a Japanese mini-van passenger car, which was first presented to the general public in 2001. Its production started in 2002 and is still ongoing. It was located, among others, in the city of Kariya in Japan.
The Alphard model was developed and put into production to expand the commercial offer of the Toyota Motor Corporation and to replace or supplement other models of the company – Granvia, Regus and Hiace. Initially, the model was designed with the domestic market in mind, but later it was exported to, among others: China, Russia and Sri Lanka. During the production, three generations of the car were created, the last of which was presented in 2015. Currently, the car is offered with a range of engines with a capacity of 2.5 to 3.5 litres, which work with a 6-, 7- or 8-speed gearbox. The car is characterized by very low exhaust emissions, high reliability and a high level of passenger safety, as well as rich basic and additional equipment.
