Isuzu Bighorn (other name: Isuzu Trooper) is a Japanese off-road vehicle, produced by Isuzu Motors Ltd., which was first presented to the general public in 1981. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 2002. The model was produced, among others, in the city of Fujisawa in Japan.
The Bighorn model was designed and put into production in order to expand the company’s commercial offer. The first generation of the car, produced in the years 1981-1991, was a relatively simple off-road vehicle (so-called mid-size SUV) with a frame construction, offered in 2- and 4-door versions. The engine range was relatively wide and included engines with a capacity of 1.9 to 2.8 litres. The first generation of the car also had a conservative, very angular body style. In 1992, the second generation of the Isuzu Bighorn appeared, which was larger than the previous one, had significantly more luxurious equipment, a changed body style and a completely new rear suspension. Larger engines (from 3.0 to 3.5 litres) and generating more power were also used. In the company’s offer, the Bighorn model was replaced by the Isuzu Ascender.
