The Mitsubishi Pajero is a Japanese off-road vehicle that was first presented to the general public in 1981 during the Tokyo Motor Show. Its serial production started in 1982 and is still ongoing! Production was concentrated primarily in the city of Sakahogi in Japan.
The Mitsubishi Pajero series was developed and put into production in order to expand the company’s commercial offer and strengthen its position in the off-road vehicle segment. The car did not have a direct predecessor in the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation offer, but it adapted and developed many solutions and concepts used in such vehicles as the PX33, Jeep Minica or the so-called Pajero I from 1973. Finally, from the very first production series, the Mitsubishi Pajero became known as a very good off-road vehicle with a reliable and solid construction, considerable overall strength and good performance for this segment of vehicles. The high quality of the car is evidenced by the fact that drivers driving it won the Paris-Dakar rally 15 times! The car has lived to see four generations, and during production or is offered only as a 3- and 5-door SUV. Currently, the most powerful engine mounted on the Mitsubishi Pajero is a 6-cylinder engine with 250 HP and a capacity of 3.8 litres.
