The Subaru Impreza is a Japanese passenger car that was first presented to the general public in 1992. Its serial production started a year later and is still ongoing. Production takes place primarily at plants in the city of Ota in Japan. Â
The Subaru Impreza was developed and put into production to replace the Leone model in the company’s offer. Compared to its predecessor, it offered passengers much greater travel comfort, and was also characterized by a significantly changed, less “angular” styling and a wider range of engines, which included units with a capacity of 1.5 to 2.5 litres. The Subaru Impreza was offered in several body versions, such as: 2- and 4-door sedans, 5-door station wagons or 5-door hatchbacks. The car very quickly achieved considerable market success, thanks to its successful drive units, reliability, but also the possibility of transferring the drive to all wheels, which significantly improves the traction properties of this model. It is worth adding that the Impreza models offered on the European, Japanese and American markets differ significantly from each other – especially when comparing the drive units. To date, five generations of this model have been created, the latest of which was presented in 2016. The Subaru Impreza has successfully competed and continues to compete in car rallies, achieving numerous successes.
