1/72 scale plastic model. Modified from the CCKW-353 cargo truck, which was said to be the workhorse of the US Army, this dump truck was designed for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Therefore, this dump truck is not significantly different from the cargo truck in appearance, and the maximum load weight has increased by about 0.2 tons from 2.7 to 2.9 tons, and the engineer corps does not particularly distinguish between the dump truck and the cargo truck.
It seems that it was very useful for missions such as setting up an airfield, as it demonstrated its performance. With the advent of this truck and bulldozer, the ability to set up the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has dramatically improved, and the Japanese army was stunned by improving the airfield that the Japanese army could not maintain even if it took a month, such as Guadalcanal, in just one week.
