The McDonnell-Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an American ground attack aircraft, the prototype of which was first flown in 1954. During the prototype trials in 1954, it broke the record for horizontal flight speed in its class of aircraft. The A-4 is a single-engine machine with a low-wing structure with a delta wing, which during use was characterized by high durability and resistance to damage, which won the recognition of pilots. Various versions of the A-4 Skyhawk aircraft took part in the Vietnam War or the Falklands War (1982). They played an important role in the 1973Â war, serving in the Israeli Air Force. The production ended in 1979, and so far approximately 2,900 combat versions and approximately 600 training versions have been produced. During the service, numerous versions were created, of which the A-4A (the first mass-produced version), A-4F (enhanced electronics), and A-4G (training version) should be replaced. Fixed armament: 2 Browning Mk 12 cannons (20 mm caliber); Suspended equipment (depending on the version) weighing from 3720 kg to 4155 kg. The plane exported, min. to Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Technical data: Top speed: 1075 km / h; climb speed 28-43m / s, practical ceiling 14900m, maximum range: 3305km.
